What makes Urban Gruel stand out?
All meals are prepared the evening before and cooked the same day as they are delivered. No industrial reheating, no sitting in warehouses and no nasties. Transport of the Hot Meals is within less than one hour of cooking completion and is delivered within minutes inside a radius of 1km. When children finish their lunch, they bring their lunch box home empty or (hopefully not) partially eaten so parents can see whether they have eaten or not and can also observe the quality of the meal provided. The container is then washed and sent back to the school the next day to enter the reuse process.
• Our commitment to green initiatives. All lunches are served in fully reusable containers which are cleaned twice and reused daily. It’s frightening to think how many thousands of tonnes or foil containers and cardboard are going to landfill every day. We do not add to these numbers thankfully.
• Money saved by not using disposable packaging means more towards better ingredients.
• Full transparency for parents. Two-week menu is published on urbangruel.ie showing the dishes scheduled by day and includes ingredients listing and calorie contents per dish.
• Chef led dishes with a hands-on approach by an award wining Chef who takes extra care when cooking to ensure optimum flavour and freshness is delivered with each dish.
